Workshop Description

Adapt your current archival knowledge and skills to today's digital landscape by exploring basic concepts, models, and workflows for creating and curating digital objects and collections. Use the knowledge gained to inform local choices and practices.

Upon completion of this course you'll be able to:

  • Understand the components of sustainable digital collection stewardship,
  • Conceptualize digital objects,
  • Recognize quality choices,
  • Understand basic metadata choices,
  • Identify management choices,
  • Consider storage choices, and;
  • Explore discovery, access, and use choices.

Who Should Attend? Archivists and others who are responsible for planning and implementing digitization projects at the beginning and intermediate level.
